Jeff D (bostonwolf) > Jeremy's friend Haruna gets things started for us. No shortage of alcohol at our table!
Jeff D (bostonwolf) > This is okonomiyaki pre-cooking. There is liquid in the bowl and you scoop everything out to let it cook, form it into a circle then put the bacon on top. You let it cook for a while, then flip it, cook the egg, flip the pancake on top of the egg and you're done.
Jeff D (bostonwolf) > Jeremy got a slightly different dish called a mon-ja. This was Mexican style (taco beef, jalapenos, corn) and was very good.

You scoop out the food and leave the liquid behind. Cook it up a while, then make a donut out of hit and start adding the liquid to the middle. It has corn starch in it so it quickly begins to solidify. Then add the cheese to the top and you are done.
Jeff D (bostonwolf) > As you can see you can easily get two items on one grill. The one on the left just had the liquid added, so it's steaming up something fierce
Jeff D (bostonwolf) > Mmmm...bacon
Jeff D (bostonwolf) > The first one got a little too crispy. The foil above contained salmon and veggies that we steamed on the grill. VERY good.
Jeff D (bostonwolf) > The second effort at okonomiyaki was perfection....
